Summer Intensive on Maui  

Absalon trained at the Orlando Ballet School in Orlando, Florida.  He was selected as part of the final group of trainees by the late Fernando Bujones, and had the opportunity to spend 2 years dancing with the Orlando Ballet Company. Absalon joined the faculty of OBS as a teacher and conditioning instructor and became the pianist to the Company.

Upon moving to Vancouver, Canada in 2009, he has taught ballet at Arts Umbrella Dance, and has been the company pianist to Ballet BC. Absalon is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training in all levels of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.  Absalon is currently the Ballet Director at Alexander Academy of Performing Arts in Maui, Hawaii.

Sean Rollofson, originally from Redmond, Washington, is a former company artist with Pacific Northwest Ballet, BalletMet, and was a principal with City Ballet of San Diego. He trained at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School, attending summer programs at the National Ballet School in Toronto and the School of American Ballet on scholarship. Sean joined Pacific Northwest Ballet in 2008, performing principal and featured roles in
works such as George Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Symphony in C, Jean-Christophe Maillot’s Roméo et Juliette, and Kent Stowell’s Swan Lake. At BalletMet, he originated principal roles in Edwaard Liang’s Giselle, Seasons, The Silence Between as well as featured roles in Jerome Robbins' Interplay, Balanchine’s
Square Dance, Justin Peck’s In Creases and the Times are Racing, Christopher Wheeldon’s After the Rain and many more. With City Ballet of San Diego, he performed
the principal couple in Balanchine’s La Source and Peter Martins’ Hallelujah Junction. His career also extends to film, television, and Broadway, including Starz’s Flesh and Bone, The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, Westside Story and the BBC’s filming
of Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream filmed at Sadler's Wells Theater with Pacific Northwest Ballet. He has also made guest appearances at The Kennedy Center with former NYCB and Miami City Ballet Soloist Kathryn Morgan, additionally with Ms. Morgan for various galas and other companies around the country as a guest principal.

Kaylee Skelton is from Littleton, Colorado, where she started her serious ballet training at Belliston Academy of Ballet, under the direction of Jeannine Belliston. Ms. Skelton attended summer courses at Pacific Northwest Ballet, School of American Ballet, and Boston Ballet. She then continued her training on scholarship in the Professional Division with Pacific Northwest Ballet, where she had the opportunity to perform in ballets with the company, such as Kent Stowell’s "The Nutcracker", "Swan Lake", and "Cinderella", as well as world premiere pieces set by PNB’s company members. She also danced as a company member with Nevada Ballet Theatre in Las Vegas, collaborating with Cirque du Soleil and performing roles such as “Big Swans” and “Spring Fairy” in James Canfield’s "Swan Lake" and "The Nutcracker". Kaylee then joined City Ballet of San Diego, where she danced in the company for 3 years. There she had the opportunity to dance many roles, including ballets by George Balanchine, such as “Tall Girl” in Rubies, “Choleric” in The Four Temperaments, and “Solo Girl” in La Source. Before joining Avant Chamber Ballet, she spent a year as a Principal Dancer with Reformation Dance Company under the direction of Kathleen Vreeland. This is her fifth season with Avant Chamber Ballet. Ms. Skelton has had the pleasure of teaching at many places, including Belliston Ballet where she grew up, and assistant teaching at Pacific Northwest Ballet. She mainly teaches ballet and pointe, but has also taught jazz, leaps and turns, and more.

Hallie Hunt (she/her) is a dancer, choreographer, educator, and movement researcher who has lived and worked on Maui for the past twelve years. She is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Adaptations Dance Theater (ADT), where she also serves as a resident choreographer and dance artist. Hallie received her early training at Western Ballet, Ballet San Jose, and Lines Ballet School, before continuing her studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance.

She has performed professionally with Ballet San Jose under Artistic Director Dennis Nahat, Alonzo King's Lines Ballet, CRAFT Dance Series, and The Ali McKeon Dance Project. She also performed and toured with The Foundry (San Francisco, CA), under Artistic Directors Alex Ketley and Christian Burns. During her time with The Foundry, Hallie completed art residencies at Ucross Art Residency (Wyoming), Santa Fe Art Residency (New Mexico), and Headlands Center for the Arts (Marin, CA).

Hallie had the privilege of dancing with Artship Dance Theater in Belgrade, Serbia, under Artistic Director Slobodan Dan Paich. While there, she taught and served as a cultural liaison to high school art programs in Belgrade. She was also honored to create a new dance work in residence at the Merwin Conservancy on Maui and served as the inaugural choreographer for ADT’s RARE residency at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.

Throughout her career, Hallie has performed works by renowned choreographers including William Forsythe, Jirí Kylián, Dennis Nahat, Alonzo King, Alex Ketley, Christian Burns, Robert Moses, Gregory Dawson, Florian Lochner, Alice Klock and Mark Kanemura. 

Hallie currently teaches at the Alexander Academy of Performing Arts, where she shares her belief in the transformative power of dance with the youth of Maui and beyond.
